The course is also designed for individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements.The course is flexible and takes account of the many teaching roles in education which includes one to one teaching. The course will be delivered by blended learning, which includes distance learning and workshops
The course is work based where you are expected to rely on naturally occurring evidence. You need to relate to your specialist area whenever possible. You will also be expected to demonstrate competency and balance theory and practice. Unlike academic courses the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English: Literacy course does not have a grading system or work on average passes? You are expected to meet all course requirements which includes learning outcomes and the assessment criteria.
You need to provide evidence of teaching for at least 50 hours by the end of the course. You also need to be observed for at least 4 hours a minimum 4 times. Any teaching session should be planned, supported by a lesson or session plan and at least 30 minutes long . All your teaching observations should be spaced in line with the course specification. The course has a 120 hours guided learning requirement.
